We had this wine a few nights ago with my poulet aux noix. It was quite nummy and delicious, though I didn't think it stood up well to the strong and mellow autumn flavours of the meal. I found it light and well-balanced with some acidity up front and a nice long sweet finish. If we'd had it with a lighter meal, maybe a light pasta, it probably would have paired perfectlyThe pinot gris has won some awards for Sandhill, though we didn't fall in love with it immediately, Annie was moved to place it in her cleavage. Lucky bottle! When we were talking that evening about wines that, um, know you in the biblical sense, this wine didn't rate. I likened it to a chaste kiss from daddy, and if (like me) you are lucky enough to have a healthy and affectionate relationship with your dad, you know that's pretty high praise.
An aside: Canadian Wine Awards, why on earth do you have to distribute your awards list on PDF? Can't you put it on an html page like a normal organization?

Being someone who loves Niagara wines and has recenlty bought land on the USA side of Niagara for grapes growing, its disheartening to see so many damn BC wines on that list. Nice pic too!
It's kind of weird having a Canadian Wine Awards, actually. I never see Ontario wines here in BC, and I'm sure it's next to impossible to get BC wines in Ontario. So I can't even be parochial and say, "Oh yes, BC wines are so much better," because I've never tasted anything from Ontario.
